Overview


Present through the known universe, Mathematical theory underpins all sciences and art forms- it is essential to everyday life and our very existence. A-level mathematics is widely recognized and serves as a foundation for various academic and professional pursuits, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. The A-Level Mathematics curriculum at Djanogly Sixth Form is designed to develop students' analytical and problem-solving skills while providing a comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts. We firmly believe in the relentless pursuit of excellence and making sure every students achieves the best grades they can.

Course Content

A-level Mathematics is split into four key disciplines. These are core, mechanics, statistics and decision, with the latter three being optional which two the college selects. At Djanogly we teach our students core, mechanics and statistics as we believe these are the better options to give our students a wider, more relevant education in mathematics.

Assessment

Assessment in A-Level Mathematics is divided into examinations at the end of the course. These exams assess students' understanding of both theoretical concepts and their ability to apply mathematical principles to solve complex problems. The assessment consists of one pure paper, one pure and mechanics combined paper and a final pure and statistics combined paper. Our exam board is AQA.
